What is a level on a chart ?

 

A level is a critical area where the price of a stock had in the past a consolidation area. I may call this area “The Box”.
At such level, the price of the stock may have two different behaviours :
1) Test the previous area and create a new consolidation area and then suddenly break (up or down) this area.
2) Don’t even test the area and just break (up or down) this area.

Both those breaks, given on points 1) and 2) usually end-up in a sharp move.
